Background

Gill had a requirement to set up an ecommerce platform that would enable them to service their customers in over 37 Countries.
In providing the brief they established that they needed an ecommerce solution with 11 webstores. 3 focused on B2B and 8 on B2C.
Having a development partner that could deliver a specification for this level of functionality spanning B2B & B2C was essential.
The client had already chosen BigCommerce as their platform choice. Our ability to specify and build their solution on this platform demonstrates our deep knowledge of several platforms.
Williams Commerce were also asked to scope and execute a comprehensive data migration and systems integration scope.

Approach

Discovery was critical to this project to make sure the needs of all countries was fully understood and that all stakeholders were consulted.
Defining and writing the specification for features and functions was a critical part of the engagement before design and build could begin
Some limitations of the BigCommerce platform meant that our team had to find creative and highly technical ways to meet the specific business needs.
Integration was complicated with many systems to consider. Williams Commerce undertook the following core integrations:
- data migration from Adobe Commerce 1 EE to BigCommerce
- ERP Protex and warehouse OMS/WMS integration
- full Sage 50 integration with Global-E for B2B and B2C
- block migration from WordPress to BigCommerce native blog
- payment gateway integrations included Sage Pay, PayPal, Google Pay and Klarna Pay Later
