Mills Ltd is a distributor of high quality cable management products and specialist tooling for the communication industry.
Originally established as an engineering distributor in 1918, Mills is still a family business, supplying a range of over 6000 products nationally for next day delivery from its headquarters in Uxbridge, West London.
The Challenge
Mills previously ran a website on the Magento 1 ecommerce platform. However, the company knew to advance and keep up with the competition, a move to Magento 2 was in their interest.
This was accelerated by Magento 1 end of life, and the plethora of advantages that being on Magento 2 offered.
The company also wanted to enhance the user experience on mobile devices, and make it easier for companies to shop with Mills on the go.
Additionally, Mills wanted to enhance the B2B functionality of their website to make it easier for wholesale buyers to shop.

What We Delivered
The Solution
Williams Commerce delivered a series of digital enhancements for Mills, helping the company take their ecommerce offering to a new level.
We delivered a custom checkout for Mills' large B2B clients, Virgin Media and Daisy stores. This included setting up new complex order approval processes and role-based frontend customisations.
We also conducted a multi-faceted order, customer and product integration with Sage 200 ERP. This included a completely new business workflows and processes. A custom shipping system for attribute-based surcharges was also introduced.
The website also now features a stunning mobile-first design, enabling customers to access Mills' products with greater ease across devices. This design was data-driven, with our team using the latest insights to understand how customers use the Mills site and navigate to their desired products and ranges. This information helped our design team create something tailored to exactly how users interact with the Mills website historically
