Custom design for a seamless online experience across all devices
The new online destination takes advantage of Magento’s powerful, native functionality, but also features bespoke design which was applied across all the core pages including the home page, category pages and product pages. Large tiled areas on the home page allow users to visually shop key categories and easily access important information pages within the website.
Product page custom design and functionality on the medal products pays special attention to guiding visitors on mandatory requirements for completion before being able to purchase a medal. Several custom options were implemented, including:
- mandatory text fields
- the ability to upsell for engraving
- an option to add images to the chosen custom option, as well as a short description
With mobile traffic growing, responsive design was also built in to helps shoppers browse and buy whilst on the go.
Powerful integration for a complete ecommerce solution
Award Medals’ new website also features integration with the Khaos control system, via a Flint Technology module. After completing the sections needed on the product page, the fully populated products then can be added to basket and when the order is placed, this seamlessly goes into Khaos control to be processed.
In addition to this, SEO considerations were also taken into account. With 3 different types of commemorative medals available to purchase, our team of Magento developers has added the ability for users to switch medal pages by a simple tick box and then the correct type product will load with a unique url so these pages can all be individually crawled and ranked by search engines.
