Williams Commerce is committed to ensuring digital accessibility. We strive to provide an inclusive online experience for all users and are working towards substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at the AA level.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.  

Currently, this website is not conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA 

We are actively working to address the following areas where full conformance is not yet achieved:

  • link-in-text-block: Ensure links are distinguished from surrounding text in a way that does not rely on color – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.4.1 Use of Color 
  • link-name: Ensures links have discernible text – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context), 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value 
  • scrollable-region-focusable: Ensure elements that have scrollable content are accessible by keyboard – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.1.1 Keyboard 
  • custom-dialog: The element appears and functions like a modal dialog but is missing required ARIA role(s) and/or attribute(s). – WCAG 2.2 AA: 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value 
  • focus-modal-none: When the modal dialog is activated, keyboard focus is not placed on/in it. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.3 Focus Order, 2.4.7 Focus Visible 
  • reading-order-browse-outside-modal: Screen readers can read content outside the modal dialog. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.3 Focus Order 
  • focus-indicator-missing: The visual focus indicator is missing altogether. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.7 Focus Visible 
  • keyboard-inaccessible: There is no way to perform the function using only the keyboard on the same screen or on a qualifying conforming alternate version. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.1.1 Keyboard 
  • semantic-heading-misused: Text that does not serve as a section heading is inappropriately coded as a heading. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 2.4.6 Headings and Labels 
  • semantic-heading: Text appears and functions like a section heading but is not marked up as such. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 2.4.6 Headings and Labels 
  • heading-not-descriptive: The heading does not describe the topic or purpose of the content that follows it. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.6 Headings and Labels 
  • semantic-list: Content appears like a list but is not marked up as such. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships 
  • semantic-hidden: aria-hidden=”true” is used on informative content making it inaccessible to assistive technology. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships 
  • image-of-text: The image contains embedded text. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.4.5 Images of Text (No Exception) 
  • alt-text-missing: The text alternative is missing. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.1.1 Non-text Content 
  • alt-text-short-text-not-meaningful: The short text alternative for the complex image is not appropriate or meaningful. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 1.1.1 Non-text Content 
  • label-group-not-present: No visual group label is present and the purpose of this group is not clear without a visual label. – WCAG 2.2 AA: 2.4.6 Headings and Labels, 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions

To evaluate the accessibility of our website, we employed a multi-faceted assessment approach encompassing automated testing with AxeDev Pro, manual testing focused on keyboard navigation, screenreader compatibility evaluations, and thorough image testing.
