Independent Research firm Forrester has named the Magento platform as a leader among B2B Commerce suites in its most recent Q3 2017 report.
Forrester said the Magento platform is an all-in-one cloud solution with a full set of B2B and B2C functionality, as a “best fit for mid-sized B2B companies that want an open, feature-rich solution that can be extended easily and inexpensively.”
The Forrester analysis, evaluated the top 11 B2B ecommerce platform solution providers with a focus on mid-sized retailers with $50 to $500 million in total revenue.
The criteria for inclusion included market presence, and the variety of components and functionality on offer. Magento received the highest score possible across the 14 sub-categories under evaluation.
Magento has released recently V2.2, a cloud based solution that includes an out of the box B2B module that brings together important B2B functionality that is now offered as part of the core commerce platform.
“This level of endorsement from Forrester demonstrates Magento’s growing focus on B2B and ability to compete alongside any of the larger players in this market. Magento’s ability to execute combined with a clear strategy gives customers confidence to invest for the long term.” Says Robert Williams, CEO of Williams Commerce, a Magento Enterprise partner.
“Whilst we’ve been building B2B functionality into Magento for the past 8 years, this is a very positive move by Magento and will be well received by B2B companies.” “We specialise in developing complex B2B functionality for our customers, including quantity break pricing, build my pallet or container, excel order uploads, quick order facilities and dealing with complex pricing tiers through sophisticated integration with systems like Microsoft Dynamix Nav, for which we have created a purpose-built connector for Nav to Magento.”
“The built-in B2B functionality offered on Magento 2.2 Cloud Commerce will deliver on the basics B2B requirements, reduce the cost to serve and will support a faster deployment on Magento for our customers.
