The Dorchester Collection manages a portfolio of some of the world’s foremost and most iconic luxury hotels in Europe and the USA. They have worldwide reputations for the best and most sought-after experiences of good living, charm, elegance and service. Each hotel celebrates its own original character, and is enriched by contemporary styling and state-of-the-art facilities. With historic buildings in outstanding locations each hotel also embodies the culture of its city.
Dorchester Collection required a complete revamp of how they provide their unique experience gift packages, like ‘Tea for 2 at the Dorchester’, and their merchandise and gift card products. They wanted to enable their customers to browse and buy from all their hotels in one experience, but be able to fulfill orders from their individual hotels.
Williams Commerce delivered a Magento Enterprise solution that delivered these requirements and more, including:
• One order fulfilled and dispatched from many locations – but presented to the customer as a single order
• Multi Currency, including currency rounding to avoid unwieldy prices
• Digital Gift Cards solution – to deliver instantly redeemable vouchers – fully tied in to the Dorchester Collection’s redemption processes, allowing true impulse gift buying
• A unique design with specific branding depending on the hotel each product was associated with and a custom category layout
• A specially designed filter based navigation, that gets customers to relevant product as quickly as possible
• Fully responsive for maximum accessibility on all devices
