We read with interest via Permira’s recent article announcing that Hillhouse Capital’s intention to invest $250m in Magento Commerce to drive forward the company’s growth strategy along with global sales expansion, support for marketing and clients, the innovation pipeline and future strategic acquisitions.

Magento became an independent company one year ago, after being bought by Permira Funds from EBay in November 2015. Permira continue to own a majority stake in the company. Hillhouse have partnered up with the Magento management team and Permira funds, in backing the long term vision of Magento Commerce.
