Popular Bluefoot CMS and Page Builder Module to be fully Integrated into Magento 2.3

The team here at Williams Commerce were excited to learn about the popular Bluefoot CMS and Page Builder Module has been acquired by Magento and will be integrated into the native code for Magento Version 2.3, currently scheduled for the second half of 2017.

Bringing with it many benefits we know our clients and customers of Magento will find very appealing.

Blue foot was created to offer Magento retailers a simple and powerful tool to manage their content online, everything from product descriptions through to blogs, with the aim to empower Magento users to create fantastic content rapidly and efficiently.

Bluefoot enables content teams to create unique, creative pages without the need for any technical expertise.

Magento continues to seek out complementary acquisitions as part of the investment strategy laid out by Magento CEO Mark Lavelle, and Bluefoot is one such system that will be integrated into the core of Magento, offering online merchants better control and creativity over the digital experiences they deliver to their customers.

Blue foot will bring a powerful set of tools to help online retailers create and manage content and site layout of their Magento store, including

  1. Easy to use drag and drop functionality, for headers, images, products and more using the user friendly and intuitive drag and drop, a preferred option by many over Magento native WYSIWYG, enabling retailers to create more complex designs and functionality without the need for technical expertise.
  2. Easy Product-Content Integration. Blog posts and promotion pages can have groups of products dragged and dropped in quickly and easily, to really facilitate merchandising.
  3. Simplified Third Party Content Integration, including the likes of You Tube, Vimeo Videos, Google Maps and much more will be integrated, making it easy to add rich content to pages, categories and posts.
  4. Static Block integration, making it easier to integrate static blocks into content ensuring that areas of the site such as categories can be turned into the designs you want.

Magento intend to provide further updates on the integration roadmap, which we have currently heard is planned for roll out in version 2.3, in the second half of 2017.

In the meantime, the current version of Bluefoot CMS (V1.0) is available exclusively for the licensed Magento Enterprise edition or Enterprise Cloud Edition Merchants with Magento version 2.1 and above.
